“We might think we are nurturing our garden,

but of course it’s our garden that is really nurturing us”

~ Jenny Uglow

Amy M Davis, owner of Lavender Thyme Garden & Herbs practices natural/organic gardening. She combines her passion for gardening and natural healing when crafting her plant base products on site in Central Pennsylvania. Herbs and botanicals are home grown, hand harvested, infused with love and the intent to heal.

You will find English & French Lavender growing in in Amy’s gardens. This timeless herb has earned a special place in her gardens not just because of its fragrance and beauty but its many healing properties. Lavender has many actions that benefit the skin. Due to its antibacterial and analgesic properties, lavender is useful for disinfecting cuts, wounds and sores while it soothes the pain and aids healing. Its circulatory stimulating effect also helps encourage healthy blood flow to the site of a wound and thus encourages healing. The powerful soothing sent of lavender calms and restores the nervous system. Lavender makes an excellent digestive aid that helps to ease gastrointestinal bloating, cramping and rebalances the overall digestive function.  Lavender doesn’t stop there. It is a culinary delight. Add lavender to your favorite tea, bake goods, make jams, make simple syrup to add to a favorite beverage or Herb de Provence to infuse a delicious savory flavor to grilled fish, chicken and roast pork.

Along with herbs and botanicals, Amy grows a variety of fruits such raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, peaches and pears. Of course, you can’t forget the vegetable garden.

Gardening has been a part of Amy since she was a young child. With the influence of her grandmother, she created her first garden before the age of ten. The garden is still growing and being enjoyed today.

Plant base healing became a part of Amy’s life in the early 2000s when her daughter developed some minor medical issues that could be treated with herbal medicine instead of prescription medication. This had amazing results. Afterwards, Amy has continued the use of herbal products for herself and her family.

Amy’s herbal studies have been and continue through the Herbal Academy. She is also certified in Usui/Holy Fire Reiki I & II along with Theta Healing and is a member of The Herbal Association.

Walking into my gardens is like stepping through a veil to someplace far removed from daily life.
